OUR STORY

In April 2020, friends Dennie Wang & Veronica Smith started a book club called The Vulgar Geniuses. They have since turned The Vulgar Geniuses into a multi-platform company & podcast committed to spotlighting writers & artists of color.

Since the launching of their podcast, they have hosted an array of guests such as award-winning authors Robert Jones Jr., Cinelle Barnes, Brian Broome, filmmaker Amber J. Phillips, and artist Noel W. Anderson.

The Vulgar Geniuses is a platform to discuss social issues, expand worldviews, and encourage experiences that make room for the voiceless and silenced.

OUR MISSION

Our goal is to create multiple platforms to highlight contemporary Brown and Black writers, artists, and community progressives from across the diaspora while creating a safe space to discuss and unite against injustices toward marginalized people of color.
